THE WHITE WHALE PROGRAMME

In summer 2009, Vladimir Putin took personal charge over the White Whale Programme, which monitors whale populations and seasonal migration patterns. The transmitter he placed on Dasha the whale may have stopped working, but the programme's research continues.
